History

GreenPrisons.org is an outgrowth of the American Correctional Association’s (ACA) newest standing committee, the “Clean and Green Committee”. ACA is to be commended for once again identifying a cutting edge topic and making a genuine effort to educate the field about the advantages of “going green” in corrections.

GreenPrisons.org’s mission is to create an online resource for corrections practitioners and providers of sustainable products and services to learn about each other. The online resources of GreenPrisons.org are supported by professional development in the form of online learning, webinars and an annual conference.
