The 4,000 bed facility has been noted as having the largest rooftop solar systems in the country, along with the addition of a 1-megawatt fuel cell power plant. The Jail uses fuel cell energy resulting substantial energy reduction and reduced greenhouse emissions, with further benefits found inside and outside of the facility.
